Iron Man (2008)

Movie Review

Directed by: Jon Favreau

Starring: Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, and Terrence Howard

Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) is the CEO of a weapons manufacturer who has everything anybody could ever want - fame, fortune, and lots of fun.  During a weapons demonstration, he is captured and nearly killed by a group of Afghan terrorists.  The terrorists give him the tools to build a deadly missile, but Tony builds an even deadlier weapon, the Iron Man suit.  With this full body weapons suit, he unleashes hell on the terrorists and narrowly escapes with his life.  He then introduces the world to the Iron Man suit.

Jon Favreau's Iron Man is a praiseworthy addition to the comic book movie genre.  It's sleek, full of big laughs, and downright fun.  It also has lots of cool machinery.  Robert Downey, Jr. was born to be Tony Stark.  He was perfectly cast for this role.  Jeff Bridges is also highly entertaining as the villain in this flick.  Iron Man is a good flick, but a few light drinks can definitely enhance your movie watching experience here.
